With summer right around the corner, many people have started thinking about some
of the fun only summer can bring like camping and other outdoor activities. While
those trips may still be a few months away, the truth is that you can bring a little
bit of the great outdoors to your patio with the addition of a fire pit. We know
how much fun roasting marshmallows and telling ghost stories can be, which is why
we are always so excited to tell people about how they can make those same great
memories right in their backyard.

### Things to Think About

While buying a fire pit is certainly a fun way to spend money, picking out the right
[fire pits in RI](https://hearthsidepatio.com/product-type/outdoor-living/fire-pits/)
can be a daunting task, since there are so many different types available. As with
most things, the key to getting the right fire pit is really thinking about the
needs the fire pit has to meet. Does it need to entertain large groups of people
or just a small family? Is it going to be used all the time or only on special occasions?
What kind of weather does it need to be able to tolerate? Will there be small children
using it? If so, what kind of safety features does it need to have? All of these
considerations and more will help determine which kind of fire pit is the right
one.

### The Fire Pit Table

One fire pit choice that is very popular is the fire pit table. These fire pits
look just like patio tables, but they have built-in fuel lines and burners. These
tables come in many different sizes, finishes, and prices which makes them an easy
outdoor addition for most people. Due to the accessibility of the flames on these
tables, be sure to keep a close eye on any small children that may use them!

### The Custom Fire Pit

Another fun choice is having a custom fire pit created to suit personal needs and
complement any kind of outdoor space. These kinds of fire pits are usually built
into the masonry of a home and so are actually a part of a patio or deck space.
They can even be built as part of a pool or spa. When it comes to these types of
fire pits, there are no limits!
